Professional Support Lawyer (Private Client)

The role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join our Private Client & Tax group. This role is central to maintaining and developing the legal knowledge base of the firm, supporting fee-earners with high-quality legal resources, training, and thought leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong technical legal expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for legal innovation and knowledge management.
Key responsibilities:
- Legal Knowledge Management:Develop and maintain precedents, practice notes, templates, checklists, and internal guidance materials tailored to the practice area.
- Training and Development:Design, coordinate, and deliver legal and technical training programs for fee-earners, trainees, and clients.
- Legal Research and Updates:Monitor legal developments, disseminate updates, and provide strategic guidance on legislative and case law changes.
- Support for Business Development:Assist in preparing client alerts, articles, and other marketing materials. Contribute to pitches and client presentations as needed.
- Collaboration and Innovation:Work closely with partners, associates, and the broader Knowledge team to promote efficient working practices and leverage legal tech tools.
- Thought Leadership:Produce high-quality, insightful content on emerging trends, providing clients and internal teams with authoritative analysis and commentary.
Qualifications and experience:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 5–8 years PQE.
- Proven expertise in private client law.
- Experience in a PSL, academic, or training-focused role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong drafting and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to synthesize complex legal issues and present them clearly and succinctly.
